Glance of the Sexes
The world withdraws on itself, people cooping up in condos and cubicles, lost to the glow of cyberscreens. The communal acts of shopping and dating too moving online. But in some places, the human story is still played out in public and told on the contours of the face.
This project focuses on the male-female glance, that gaze between, towards or away from. The look is a passing moment or a beginning or a window into a parallel space of what-ifs. It could also be a moment away, removal or solitude.
Taken primarily on Bedford Ave (in Williamsburg - Brooklyn), these images take a playful look at our desire to see, to know and also to reach and escape.
